I've only recently gotten "back into" rimfire rifles, but I don't see how you have a bad choice between the two you are considering as both have excellent reputations as very good guns.
I believe you will be hard pressed to find many dissatisfied Henry owners.. I know here in the U.S. they have a wide following of happy owners, and a very reasonable purchase price, coupled with a firearms manufacturer who offers a lifetime warranty, and stands by it has a lot to offer.
On the other hand the excellent Browning offers a very nice carbine size lever action rimfire but the price of admission is a bit more stiff.. But, with the price you get "exclusivity" because not every one you see at the range will have one.
When I was searching for a rimfire lever action I considered the Browning, but passed on a personal issue, I just didn't care for the way the trigger disengages and remains with the lever vs the Marlin or Winchester style where the trigger remains in the receiver.
Just a personal thing.. Nothing wrong with the way it functions.
I lucked up on a like new 1996 Marlin 39A "Original Golden" at a gun show and walked out with it for $400.00. (Don't know how that equates to Canadian money).
I really love my 39A.. It is SOOOO accurate. I liked it so much I started shopping around for a Mountie, but ran up on a Model 39 (1970) Century Limited. General census is that the CL is just a "blinged" up Mountie, but not sure Mountie lovers will agree.
The CL is more like the Browning you are considering in size.. A very nice lever action 22, a real fun plinker, and has some neat brass "bling" that makes it a classy looking little carbine..
I liked my first CL so much I bought another.. (You can never have too many rifles, right?)
Another consideration of course is the fine Winchester 9422, but here in the States they are few and far between and expensive when you find one. I love Winchester rimfire rifles (I have a Model 63), but I didn't have the money it would have required to buy a nice one.
Best of luck with whatever you wind up buying.. If you can, please consider the Marlin along with the Browning and Henry.. It's deserving..
