BR or not to BR? That is the question.

1. Do you live in Southern BC or on Vancouver Island?
2. Do you have a Benchrest Centerfire rifle?
3. (or) Do you have a precision scoped rifle for another discipline?
4. (or) Do you have a varmint rifle?
5. Are you interested in learning more about Benchrest Shooting and precision reloading?
6. Could you get to Mission and District Rod and Gun Club for a Sunday afternoon? (http://www.missionrodandgun.com/

If you can answer yes to questions 1, 5, and 6 and to one of 2, 3, or 4 I would encourage you to send me an E mail. lathamconsult@telus.net. A group of us are interested in re-establishing Benchrest shooting early in 2012 beginning with very introductory informal fun sessions.

Thanks Tigrr.
The Mission range is a good one with many solid covered benches and lots of reloading space and a warm room. (some good pictures are on the website) We anticipate 100 and 200 to start but the range extends to 300 yards as well and has butts at 300. Varmint and BR calibers are closely related so they tend to be 6mm or smaller but we are not turning away F class .308. Those big bullets really suit BR for Score if not so much BR for Group. Anyway, thanks and I urge everyone to pass the post on to those they know in our area that may be interested.

I would love to bring my F-class rifle out and see how it stacks up against full blown BR rigs.

Keep us updated on dates and times.

I might have to skip 1 or 2 of our Winter League shoots to attend.

Sounds great! I shoot BR in Alberta but would make the trip to BC for matches whether they were fun shoots or sanctioned matches. The BR community is pretty small in Canada in my opinion so I'd support anyway I could.

Thanks everyone (so far) I hope you are continuing to forward this link to those you know who may be interested. Peter, we particularly apperciate your very kind offer and I will get back to you as we progress. We have some top shooters to assist, encourage and mentor (that is what got me involved just a few months ago). Folks like Joe Mendham and Bob Goehring. We will set our first date very soon.
