I stopped in at the local gunshop after work and bought a Henry basic lever and a Mossberg 702 Plinkster. I always liked the levers and the mossberg semi felt really comfortable.

Other than checking the bore and the chamber, buying lots of ammo, what mtnce should I do before taking them to the range? What is a good oil to use, Hoppes?

Thanks,
Cactus

Personally with every rimfire I own, I clean thoroughly after every 500 rounds I shoot, keep them clean with solvent then a bit of oil and the gun will be good to go for many generations. Congrats on your purchase!

Thanks for the info fellas,

I ran patches down the barrels and a little light oil on the semi action. Got out for a couple hours shooting and everything was perfect. Except for my shooting that is LOL.

Clean with G96. Keep her dry and clean. Should be only dry oil free patches coming out. Only oil should be in the action, a light coat, and when done shooting, i boresnake it, then keep a cloth soaked in oil, and wipe the outside down.
