For the record, I have found that - before using any cutting tool to cut a ziptie from a firearm - is is best to first insulate the firearm.
A popsicle stick works.
Slide the stick under the ziptie, ensure that the cutting tool does not stray from the popsicle stick, and cut AWAY from the firearm.

well don't let my experience deter you i don't think i was their fault, it just sucked because i found one of this in spring and there were none in stock until now, they also had the cheapest price.
i might try again for one of these, i can't really find another 1911 that's kind of unique from factory without breaking the bank lol
i talked to mixup98 on youtube about his colt finish and so far he's had no problems and i know he carries and shoots his lol
the popscicle stick is a good hack lol, but i cut mine in the gap between the trigger and the frame there's a gap
still wouldn't have caused an impact to cause sharp edges on the frame
Why is a dealer using a zip tie? Not a legal trigger lock anyway. Second, it appears the scratch is self inflicted. Third OP is getting his money back...life moves on

Colt newer guns like this don't have the best finishes. They don't hold up. The scratch could very likely happened during shipping. The colt blue boxes don't have thick padding and parts of it has no padding. Could of easily happened when canada post employee thru the package as a hail Mary to live out there Joe Montana to Jerry Rice fantasy
Everyone thinks because you have a business you are rich and don't work 60hours a week. Sit at home and collect the money.
You clearly aren't a scammer but there tons of bums who do damage and blame on dealer.
That's not to say the worker at shipping didn't scratch it up and won't confess to the boss.
It could be a few reasons. No proof.
Be polite and respectful and say you had good experience and just like an exchange or keep it and ask for a gift card. Realistically, the guns going to get scratched up if your going to be using it over a lifetime. If it's a collector.....well not the gun to go with. Newer colts have terrible resale value and they not that great. My sw1911 shoots better than the colts I've owned. Only colts that were decent were 70s and the top of line colt models but you can buy a les baer with 500rd count for same price.
When cz takes over production. They will make some damn good colts. Look at Dan wesson 1911. Frame to slide fit and finish is high qaulity

Don't know if you have read the whole thread, but this has been settled, dealer took it back and gave refund
My bad. I must of skipped over the 5th page.
Now to wait and see if dealer is legit and repost on there website or instore counter as blemish with discount or if they try to pull a fast one and pass it off as new to online purchaser.

Good to hear you were refunded your money and found a replacement, I’d return it as well if I bought new and it showed up damaged. It’s one thing when you buy a used gun, you expect some wear and tear but if it’s new from a dealer I expect it to be new condition.
