Okay bought a pietta pps50 in september, only taken it out twice and put maybe 200 down the pipe.... MAYBE...
when it completely stopped working,
for such an expensive .22 im not very happy with it but its faults are bearable
sights come loose and stock comes loose after 20 down the pipe...
but upon further inspection of the problem i found this..

sent them an email, will call them in the morning.
but is this kind of crap normal for 200 down range in a $500 .22???

The round plate with the two prongs on it for the springs seems poorly made on mine. The rear of it has a horrible finish, that's flaked off, so when you screw the nut on to the rear of the gun, it grinds against the round plate, and caused my springs to get twisted. This most likely caused the bolt to fall back on those two prongs, and snapped one of them.

Seems to be a quality control issue. I keep meaning to contact pietta about it, and see if I can buy a replacement one with a smooth rear. I'd put a washer or something in there if I didn't thing it'd screw with the gun.

Ohh, and the loose stock, same with me. I have the black polymer stock.. bolt shook loose the first 50 rounds I put through it. Thankfully I was at the range, and heard the TING of it hitting the ground. If it had been out at the farm.. it woulda been gone.

Isn't Marstar the primary importer for these?

In any case, I would get in touch with the retailer you got it off first thing, send an email with all the relevant info and attach pics, then follow it up with a call during business hours, and make sure they are aware of the email.

Most of the dealers here will be pretty good about shipping replacement parts. If you run into trouble with the dealer you bought it off, Marstar (I think) should be able to get spare parts.

Marstar lists recoil spings $4.00 and spring guides $10.00 on their site ( spings sold out ) so that could indicate that this is problem is not unknown to the pps50 .. I do not own one ...

No real amount of comments on the net, but wolf seems to make a replacement spring.

Numrich list recoil springs as sold out :-( Taylor's shipping costs are the pits so I did not check there, although they sourced a uberti scholfield hammer ( firing pin back up part ) for me in very short order .. I received a back up Pietra SAA firing pin from them at the same time.
