I had a table at the Brandon gun show the past weekend. Met more than a few of the other gunnutz, and got to see their Enfield purchases in a few cases. I thought maybe a thread in which we could show our spoils was in order.

I didn't purchase any guns, but I did make kind of a cool find. A friend mentioned he had seen a kind of conical flash hider on which the end had a bit of an angle. Right away I though of the Sten mk1. I have never seen the early flash hider in person, and one or two others suggested this was some form of a funnel for a reloading press. But for $15 I took a chance, and once I got it home I compared it with the few photos available in Laidler's book "The Sten Machine Carbine", along with photos on the net. Sure enough it would seem to be for the mk1 Sten. It almost looks too clean to be real, but I doubt anyone would have been making repros of this item since the guns are rarely encountered.

Anyway, without further adieu, here are some shots of my Brandon Gun Show find.

Stencollector, was good to chat with you (me an my brother were the 2 large bearded men:)).

I think this is why we all go to guns shows as it's great to yak with other collectors and you never know what you're going to find!

I left the show with .43 Mauser dies, 45-90 brass, 24g brass for my snider and a martini bayo I found at a table selling vintage toys.

The real shocker was when I found yet another clip for a Dutch Manlicher, now I have 3 I guess I better buy the gun that they go with.

Last but not least after finding Smellie and Twosteam I left with a very nice full length barreled 71/84 Mauser sporter and also got to borrow a Ross H.G. Sporter from him.

I'll have to snap some pics tonight.

wow that is a find. Great to stop in and chat with all the gun nutz I recognized, only a couple purchases on my end just enough to unsporterize my second gun purchase ever a 1943 Fazakerly No4 Mk1.
