Brass capacity test with H20 this time. 300 WM Hornady

So I did the volume test with water this time to get a more accurate measurement.It's a small size sample but it think it tells enough.

So what I did was checked the Hornady brass from the 300 Wm Vanguard Ive been fighting with.There is fired brass and ready to load brass.

Also had some 7/08 brass I figured I'd check just for poops and giggles.There is 7/08 Lapua ready to load and some Remington fired.

First is case weight, second total weight with water, in blue , the weight of water.



Results were a lot more consistent than I would of expected.

Nicely done. I've always found it strange how some people say case capacity and weight aren't related.

I sized some 308 Remington cases down and am running side by side with 7/08 stamped cases, neck turned for thickness in all instances. I may try to do this test to see if there is any difference between the cartridges.

Agreed. More similar than expected. If my results provide the similar variation there will be one less excuse for my results at the range.
