Hi folks

does anyone have suggestions where you can get (in Canada) loading components and tools for such cartridges as:

43 Spanish or the .45 cal sharps. I am looking for dies and cases. Moulds would be nice too.

thanks

Lee makes dies for the .43 Spanich $35 can. www higginsonpowders.com According to " CARTRIDGES OF THE WORLD" the .43 Spanish bullet is .454 whereas a .45-70 Gov bullet is .457, maybe a .45-70 bullet sized to .454 might be the ecomomical way to go. Lee sells molds for .457 for about $27 and resizing kit for .454 for about $17. Ask Higginson's email for a price list , they will email a price list and you can look at the product at www.leeprecision.com As for the .45 sharps , I believe it is just a long .45-70 ,same bullets as .43 Spanish just sized to .457 and maybe use .45-70 dies but you won't be able to full length resize. Try www ellwoodepps.com for cases.

If you don't have luck with any of the above, try Buffalo Arms in the USA, they supply cases, dies, etc. You may want to try MT Chambers in sask. for bullets for the old calibers incl. Creedmore Bullets, Paper Patch Bullets, Badger, Hoch, etc.....these bullets come from expensive custom moulds. One question.....the.45 Sharps, which one is it? 45/70(45 2 1/10"), 45/90(45 2 4/10"), 45/100(45 2 6/10"), 45/110(45 2 7/8"), or45/120(45 3 1/4")??

according to folks at the gun show saturday - they are having trouble getting brass over the border. try k. jenkinson in grand forks, bc.
i got some 45 basic for my 45/110 from him. i had to run it through the 45/110 sizer (no small job - all i have is a lee hand press) , then trim it to length.

Starline sells 45/90, 45/100 and 50-90 Sharps brass. They will ship orders for less than $100 to Canada and are prompt. I've used them a few times - A+.

Buffalo Arms sells a lot of re-formed brass. A good job, but nothing a keen reloader couldn't do themselves.
