So there's some fine brass shavings accumulating around the shell plate/ram on my Lee Turret Press while I'm loading 9mm. I can see the fine particles of brass falling out of the powder/flare, bullet seating and factory crimp dies. I had previously loaded about 1,000 rounds without an issue. The only thing I've changed is that I'm now wet tumbling with steel pins instead of vibratory dry media with some NuFinish car polish.

I've loaded about 500 rounds like this, they cycle and shoot fine in my pistol. No adverse effects.

Should I be worried? Should I start lubing my 9mm brass?

The brass particles could be on the expander plug from the first 1000 rounds. Take it out and clean it. Brass particles are pretty normal. In addition, you will find brass particles in the SS media after tumbling.

I lightly lube the Lee expander with Redding wax every so often. I also spritz all pistol brass with lanolin/alcohol mix. Still get the brass particles.
