brass from the US of A.

??? Sinclairs still ship to Canada, I've got lots of stuff from them. I accidentally ordered some items that required a permit and they contacted me saying that I would haveto apply for the permit. Never said anything about not shipping it here once proper paperwork was in place.(I didn't bother with it)
Unless they've changed this very recently.

You can still get stuff from Sinclairs. I just got some dies from them.

You can't get brass though, you need a permit for that.

Buffalo Arms will ship you brass in any amounts (pistol, rifle and brass shotgun shells) with no limits, just no bullets and loaded ammo the last time I talked to them. If the CGN's police don't like this comment, they can contact the US state department crying fowl:rolleyes:

"...If the CGN's police don't like this comment..." It's not our side that cares. In any case, Buffalo Arms ships out of the U.S. via an exporter. The exporter deals with the U.S. paperwork for a $50 - $300 US fee.
You don't apply for the U.S. permit. You get the Canadian import permit, likely the only thing you'll ever get for free from our government, send it wherever, Stateside and wait. The retailer/US shipper then applies for the export permit. More waiting. Several months, last I heard.

It is legal for many items to be exported from the US without an export permit to NATO countries EXCEPT Canada.

And that is a pretty sarcastic comment "they can contact the US state department crying fowl". If Buffalo Arms is found to be exporting without a permit it WILL cost them 10's or 100's of thousands of dollars in fines and legal fees. If the State Department goes in, it won't just be for one shipment, they will check ALL their records and fine them appropriately.

That said, there might be an exception for certain "antique/black powder" cartridges.

The comment was intended to be "sarcastic" because there are a few on here that can't wait to preach "US laws", and as such I have pulled in another one I see. Sheeple!
I have ordered brass from Buffalo Arms several times in the last few months without problems. I have asked them about limits and export rules and they say none, so good. So, am I breaking a law, no, are they, who knows and for that matter who cares I get what I need. The original poster asked and I told of my experiences. So I guess you will need to make a few phone calls to make us safe from the export loop holes.
So basically, I am going strictly by my own experiences; I have ordered brass from Starline as well and they've shipped it up here ($100 maximum). Regardless of who is right and who is wrong, it is up to the US to enforce their laws, it's not our responsibility. Maybe someone who is really concerned about this wants to do the research and maybe I could learn something. However, for now I will go by what the American companies tell me.

I have applied for the Canadian import permit and received it. So I sent it to Sinclair's about a year a go and they got a US export permit. I have received a half a dozen shipments since then. I just placed an order last week brass was one of the items on the order, they told me I would have to talk to Kerry Parker there International rep. She told me that they were no longer shipping brass to Canada.

So you CAN'T get brass from them even if you have the proper permits.

Interesting.
It was bullets that I had ordered because I had their 2008 catalog that said up to X,000 amount of bullets could be purchased and shipped to Canada. This had since changed. They emailed me a said I would have to apply for a permit, but I didn't bother. Just canceled the bullets off my order.

I am well aware that you cannot buy brass from Sinclair, I have never tried. They ship most other stuff, but reloading components such as powder, primers, bullets, cartridges etc. are usually off limits. Most of us already know this.

There is paperwork you can go through, on both sides I understand, and perhaps some places in the US will ship brass to Canada (which is awesome), but most places in the US will not ship brass to Canada.
