Brass Parts- How do you make them black

I have a number of brass parts on several guns and would like to refinish them to either a semi gloss black or matt finish. Does Duracoat work on brass? Is there anything else I could use to get the desired results?

Do a search of "BIRCHWOOD CASEY GUNCARE PRODUCTS" this company has a product called "BRASS BLACK" ,

Brownell's carries the Brass Black. Or get your local shop to order some in for you. Works just like regular cold bluing. Duracoat works in everything, but it isn't as cheap as Brass Black.

Ordinary cold blue out of most of the makers bottles will blacken the brass quite well. The problem with blackening brass, is that i wears very quickly no matter what method is used. bearhunter

Aluminum black by birchwood worked for me. Where do you find brass black?
