Started out today sizing up a bunch of 30-06 brass 100 pcs.
After about 80 pcs. I started to notice a little dimpling around the shoulder a few more and it was very noticable almost octagonal
occasional dent on the body it'self. Fits good in the chamber.
Whats up oh Guru's ?

seems like a build up of lube in the die. I do not put lube on the casing neck, only the body.I use RCBS lube and spread thinly with my fingers, this also allows me to find any other irregularities in the casing, I have not seen or felt before.

Lube only the body, not the shoulder or neck.

Also check that the hole in the side of the die is not clogged with lube, the hole is to let the air pressure out as the case is sized. If it is clogged this too could cause dimples in the shoulder.

Go ahead and use it, they will be gone after you fire it, also you might want to try Imperial Sizing Die Wax to lube your cases. You use such a thin coating on the brass that you never have the dents and it is easier to clean off than the old style goopy stuff.

X2 Imperial works better than any I have used in the past.
