This isn't my video but I bought one of these units about a month ago. It was approx $1875 CAN shipped to me. I have a smiliar unit to the video, using the 380/9mm/40/45 trommel.

We don't use any 380 or 40 but lots of .223, 9mm, 357, 45 and 7.62x39

The .223 falls out in the first part then 9mm, the 357 and x39 fall out in the 40 cal area and the 45 or anything like .308 that gets mixed in falls out the end. As far as mechanical brass sorters go this is fairly affordable and works well. Sorting brass using trays or by hand is a chore, this is kind of fun. I put in some airpods, throw on some ear muffs and crack a beer then just start feeding the machine and picking out the (rare but it happens) stray brass. it's usually 223 falling into the 9mm area so that's easy to see.

If the brass is dirty, I would be worried about breathing large quantities of lead dust. I presume you have some process that removes that hazard?

I don't know if that is any more of a concern than when doing any other sort of brass sorting or even actually shooting, but I suppose you could wear a respirator. Mine is set up outside under a covered porch so no dust is accumulating in my shop.

This thing is a whole lot more than the $60 5 gal pale Shell Sorter that does the same thing at arguably the same speed, and I can sort 9mm from .223 faster by hand than that machine.

I guess if one has ~$2k burning a hole in their pocket...

I've used the shell sorter trays by hand and also attached to a vibrator motor. They can be fairly quick but it's not very enjoyable when doing large amounts of brass.

This machine is not cost effective for a person that does a bucket of brass every now and then. But if you are doing buckets and buckets of brass it's a very good investment that will pay off in time and mental health. :)

Lots more info and videos on their facebook page here https://www.facebook.com/groups/1048144283185665

No question.

I'd love a row of 1050s too, but just can't justify them.
If this thing has solved the 'russian dolls' effect with 9/40/45, that is probably worth half the cost right there.

I won't say it 100% solves the problem but due to the vibratory motor it does tend to agitate the brass enough to separate most of them.
