I think you have a better chance of finding a Unicorn, in 38 years of collecting I have seen one and it was in the USA.

Good luck...very rare bird indeed.Though with the amount of G-43 Winnipeg supply brought in one might have found it's way in and is being sporterized as we speak..mmmmm now to trim that barrel, buff and a bright blueing.:)

It is hard enough to find regular G43's here in Canada.

Like findining a kernel of corn in a septic tank. It can be done, but it will take alot of dirty work to find it.

There have been several show up on gunbroker and and on the US gun forums for show and tell.
If you want one bad enough, import it through Questar.
Seems to run about $1800 and up depending on condition.

Approximately 300 prototypes built by Imbel in Brazil after the war. Essentially a German G/K43 with a strengthened bolt carrier, push button gas cut-off and improved gassystem. The gas cut-off was for use when firing rifle grenades. The stock was made of hardwood and used the same buttplate as the Brazilian M1954 Mauser. The sling attachments are also different compared to the German G43.
The magazine resembles the US BAR magazine with an added front lip. During the trial period it was quickly found under extensive fire, the bolt hammered the back of the receiver to such a degree the gun quit functioning, so it isn't recommend to shoot this rifle for safety reasons.
Little else is known about this program, and the Brazilian M954 remains one of the scarcest G43 variations in existence.

i found one on Gunbrooker
Ouch the price is heavy

Another good reasons for visiting Brazil again :)

Itajuba arms factory is located between Rio de Janiero and Sao Paulo in the state of Minas Gerais. Should be worth a visit when I go down there next time.

Brazil can be very inexpensive.

Thanks for the picture of this rare gun.

Brazil do have a mayor arms manufactoring facilities, which includes armored cars and attack aircraft.

However, Rio de Janiero can be dangerous for tourist, in which the locals crooks labels the tourist, "filet mignon".

Yes, but as a friend of mine says "never say never in Canada". When the US shut down their borders to military surplus in 1968 in meant that basically all that stuff ended up coming to Canada.

If you are looking for something, eventually you will probably find it.
