what do un-fired 1935 Brazilian Mausers in 7x57mm go for these days? I have an opportunity to buy one don't know if the price is fair. The gun is in mint shape all numbers matching with bayonet and scabbard.

Thanks James

They are beautiful rifles and would easily cost around 2 grand to produce today if made to the same standard. I had a mint one back in the 70's that was superbly accurate but without the bayo or sling. It cost me $150.oo and like a dumb fook, sold 'er a year later for a hundred bucks more.:bangHead:

I wonder how many more are in the seller's crate on that deal?

Value of these mausers has gone way up. There are some that shown up at the dealers recently. They all look unissued. If they were used or fired value should go down a bit.
2295+ tax and shipping is what dealers asking for them now. I think its way too much, but its just me.

At that price, they should be in the wrap, with accompanying signed accuracy verification target, matching bayonet with sling and frog.

Because these rifles were factory tested it's almost impossible to prove they are unused otherwise. The rifles did have their bores scrubbed after firing because of the corrosive priming used in the test cartridges.

I sold one in Kamloops this spring with matching bayonet and sling. No target, no frog. I couldn't say the rifle hadn't been fired after leaving the factory. I got $1500 for it.

The gap between the unissued 1908s and 1935s is shrinking. There was a time when the 1935s brought a premium price. No longer. Far fewer of the unissued 1908 rifles around. One other thing many of the 1908 rifles were separated from their bayonets when sold out of service. Not sure why. Maybe Brazil retained them for the other rifles in their service. Many 1908/1935 rifles were converted to 30-06 with a threaded muzzle for grenade launching and later handy little 7.62x51 carbines with a flash hider.

I sold another, without any accessories, fired but in excellent matching condition in Vernon a few weeks ago for $800.

Seen one at a shop, had it in my hands, looks like it just came out of the factory $1795.
