Break action issue

I have an old ranger 12g single shot break action. The gun is miny. Locks tight ejects perfect bore and wood beautiful. Problem is when I shoot it it pops open just a bit so I don't shoot it no more. Just wondering if there is an ajustmen somewhere or is it just gonna be pretty.

Usually, when a break open shotgun pops open on firing (it will be worse in the rain) it indicates that the locking system is worn.

Sounds like a worn out action. A good experienced gunsmith could tighten it up but the cost might not be worth it for that gun.

Stop using it and have it checked out before you get hurt or someone else does . Next time it may open alot more and bust you in the face . Not good and not funny !
