The Files show us what is going on in Production for the M1 Garand Rifle in 1939.
REMEMBER, as of Sept. 1, 1939 WW 2 had started.

Without input from you guys no one learns anything Try to put in some info/question and we can learn more of the M1's History.

I'm surprised they alotted so many rifles to the National Guard, because in my logic having the entire Army and Marine Corps armed with M1's would have been my top priority as well as stock piling them for the future war at hand, then I'd send a few here and there to National Gaurd units, just a small few to get them used to the rifles just familierization of the rifles at their training camps, till the production is able to properly supply them. :)
