Shoot 200 rounds as fast as you can. It fire laps the barrel and smooths everything out.

But on the more serious side (and only because I've already had my tea) the general consensus is you don't really have to "break in" a barrel. Just go shoot, and clean the rifle when you come home. Repeat.

I never understood how lead can wear out a steel barrel fast enough it's considered "broken in."
If it's not shooting as good as it's going to out of the box it probably never will.

Unless you shoot cast bullets, copper is the outer jacket material on most bullets.
