Hi all,

I'm getting married in May and id like to get all the guys in the bridal party a gift. ( 1 best man and 3 groomsmen )

I was thinking either getting them each a .22 or a target/yote gun or a Rod and reel combo.

Any recommendations online or in store on where i could get a good deal on a .22 or a .17 hmr ?

Im looking on spending between 100-200$ on each person. ( maybe a bit more on my Bro who is the best man )

+1 for the sks, they are very economical.

Congratulation on the marriage.
Also you sir are one hell of a guy! Your best man and groomsmen are lucky to be your friend.

An SKS each (get the multi-pack from someone like Frontier?) and one case of ammo split several ways would make a hell of a gift pack! And right in the $200 price range, actually... a little over, but not by much.

I see lebaron has a sale on the SKS's

Russian Simonov SKS
Semi–Auto Rifle — 7.62 x 39

how is the 7.62 x 39 cartridge? never heard of it, $$$ ? good for target?
How about hunting wise? yote? deer?

you can get a case of military surplus for about 200$, that's 1200 rounds.

Good for target within 100m, same with hunting, or so I am told. I have yet to hunt with mine.

I can tell you that I love my SKS. Great looking gun, the kick isn't bad and is a treat to shoot. Quality Russian craftsmanship.

Go the 22LR route. Might cost you a few more bucks but they'll each have a decent small game/plinking outfit.

Make sure that everyone has a license before you go too hog wild. Great idea for gifts

yeah im leaning that way.. The SKS is very cool setup BUT i doubt they would get much use out of it since a couple of them use 270 wsm and 7mm for deer, moose etc,,,

The 22 would be good i`m thinking. Every body like a good rimfire, you can pick up some good deals on Savage bolt guns and buying a package like that most dealers would give a pretty good discount.

Instead of the gun what about a gift certificate to a gun shop. That is what I did when I got married many , many , moons ago.Women were not happy but the boys were.:D
