Any opinions? I'm will be putting this in my beater Norinco Commander. I'm getting the oversized one (not drop in) and will fit it myself. The one it came with is very loose on the slide and barrel.

I'm gonna get the rails welded next, or crimp the slide a bit. (yep, the slide and frame has some wiggle room)

I'm looking to improving its accuracy.

I've had two 1911s with spherical bushings in them, one a Briley, the other a Pachmayr. Both pistols were assembled and fitted by pros, and both functioned and shot beautifully. It's hard to say how much of that was due to the bushings, but they certainly didn't appear to hurt. Must add, though, that the pistolsmith who worked on one of those pistols doesn't like spherical bushings at all, and prefers to fit solid bushings.

Thing I noticed on both pistols: the bushing rings were fit to the barrels tight enough that they'd slide smoothly off a dry barrel held vertically, but a thick film of 10W30 oil would hold them on. No slop whatsoever.
