bringin a gun over sea

You would require an ATT from all of the CPFO's, plus whatever the Italian State department equivalent requires.

You may be looking at least 6 months to get your ducks in a row BEFORE the trip.

hi guy. anyone know if i can bring a gun from italy where i live now to canada and come and continue practicin ipsc in some fields there.

Sarebbe più facile da vendere la vostra pistola in Italia e da
comprare un'altra qui dopo che arrivaste. Nel Canada dovete
appartenere ad un randello della pistola per sparare la vostra
pistola.

Che zona dell'Italia voi in tensione?

Ciao

thanks guys! so over there they allow you 10 round in your mags. ill ask over here what to do. im gettin bored on thinkin about docs.

WHAT!

In English please.

Doubt about 6 months.
If you have a canadian Firearms saefty course, register your Gun, call CFO for an ATT and bring it over by Airplane. Thats it. ( Dont forget the Triggerlock and no ammo with the gun )

For all other Questions everything depending on your status in Canada. Permanent Resident ? Temporairly Resident ? Work Permit ? Study ?

Export Permit from Italy
Import Permit from Canada
etc....

giorgie,

maybe that will help.
Canadians are very friendly bunch of people, so try to get friendly with some and maybe you can practice using that person's gun. You will cover price of ammo, and they will let you shoot. Most likely you would be able to compete in our IPSC (10 rounds) as well.
It is less complicated then bringing pistol to Canada.
There is one more option.
If you know someone very well and you can trust that person, give him money to buy the pistol. He will keep pistol as his possession. Then whenever he goes shooting he will take you to the range and you will shoot "his" gun.
Before you go back to Italy, you ask him to sell it for you and give you money back. I do not know, that may not sound to smart, but again, if you can trust someone with your money, this is an option....

In fact, the only Italian I know is the 'dialetto veneto'......(My father's from the city of Venice)

My mother's brother and his wife still live in the house my mother was born in: via candiani 25. I visited them when I was in Italy last October for the IDPA Italian & European Championships.
