bringing a scope over the border...

Well should i or shouldnt I...

I have thought about it bringing a scope over for my future rimfire 22 purchase.. I asked a local gun store and they told me that you cant bring them over because its considered a weapon somehow since 9/11.

my question is ... is this true... can i just bring it over and declare it..... I dont want to take the chance sneaking it... anyone know.. has anyone did it.

maybe we have some border guards on the form...

Do a search, this subject has been discussed many times.
You can NOT bring a scope into Canada. It is against U.S. laws. Get caught and you will never set foot on US soil again. End of story.

Well, strictly speaking, the difficulty is not in bringing the scope into Canada, it is bringing it out of the United States.
This whole business of exporting firearm related items from the US has been discussed many times, and as suggested, if you do a search you will find a great deal of information.
