hey guys..anyone out there bring anything over the border on a trip? like in a car for example? is it a nightmare or pretty easy? talking non-restricted only. and mags as well? any issues with those? was going to the states driving in the next while and was thinking of maybe picking up some stuff...

sure its very easy
provided your a licensed us exporter
with export permits
and the items are registered for export

google ITAR canada customs wont care but us customs does do exit checks and no permits equals jail, fines and entry bans or all three

Spektor I'll save you the trouble of the facetious bulls**t your about to catch. Don't bother, you can't do it without a whole lot of paperwork and permits. You can with shotguns and stuff but again, not worth the hassle. You can get items the aren't ITAR controlled. Google ITAR for it's meaning, it's arms control laws basically. So if your hitting up a Cabela's or something just let them know who and what you are etc and they should take care of you. You can get gear but no guns more or less. There are sticky's about getting parts and stuff that you can look into but yeah....the underlying theme here is don't waste your efforts.

ya i posted this in the general forum as well and got alot of stories and advice NOT to do it. which i won't be. i had no idea it was so moronically controlled. thanks!

It is easy once you have your diplomatic status, contact the Ministry of Foreign affairs they will get you all the paperwork you will need.
