Sounds like a new caliber but in the same style rifle. Are they currently using the 338 Lapau?.............anybody?

I'm pretty sure they are using the 308, 338 and 50.

The system described is the 338 Lapua Magnum the British did have AI Rifles in 338 LM these were the early model that utizled a lighter bullet and a shorter magazine

For edification, .338LM is the sniper calibre for medium range use in NATO.
