BRN-10A Rifle .308 NR??

You will never see these in Canada unless they bring them in restricted. They are based on AR10 and AR15 respectively.

Obviously the AR15's would be brought in as such, looks like they're built with the Nodak receivers already.

The interesting one would be the AR10's, because...do they follow AR102 or AR10 lines?

The original AR10 was select fire, so they are prohibited. I don't what model they are patterning them after, but there is a video on the Firearm BLOG that does a review of a Portuguese military AR10 that is select fire and looks identical to the BNR.

Nope.
See the bronwells product description on their site.
They are reproductions of the original Stoner AR10. Parts are compatible with AR15/AR10 accessories just like the NEA102.
The bolt and it looks like the upper and lower are proprietary to the rifle which is an exact copy of the original by Brownells product description.

These would essentially be justified in the exact same manner that NEA used to get the 102 Non restr.
It will go either one of two ways, they will fall under the already existing FRT for the very rare Dutch survival semi auto purpose built rifles which already exists in the system in Canada (this is what NEA piggy backed on as precedence for the 102) or the RCMP will say it has to go to the lab and spend 3 years or so trying to f**k us on it.
But literally the Dutch Survival FRT in the system as NR and the NEA102 NR based on that same entry are essentially the exact product as this newly made Brownells gun. As long as the upper and lower are 100% copies of the original design, they wouldn't have a leg to stand on to make it Restricted. But then again this is Canada....

The original Stoner AR-10 is prohibited as it was select fire. That is on the FRT.

No s**t....
It's a direct copy of the AR10 in a semi auto purpose receiver man. Which would essentially make it a copy of the Dutch Semi Auto only version which is NR. Same as the 102 which just got NR status using the Dutch Semi Auto version listing as precedence (see last volume of caliber magazine for details on how they got it and see the Brownells product description on their site)
It's obviously not an automatic rifle.

They made them in semi-auto only as well. Also a US company made semi-auto only lowers for the Dutch uppers. Very rare.

No full auto sear or position on this rifle with Dutch upper.

The key is that they are prohibited because they are select fire, not because of the name, or the model, or any design precedent. Therefore if you take away the full auto feature, it isn't prohibited.

The AR-15 reproductions will be restricted because the AR-15 design is named as restricted. But there should be no reason this BRN-10 would be restricted or prohibited.

The problem will be exporting. If this is the design we heard hinted about in another thread, there is no intent to go through the ITAR hoops to export.

Someone has to do some leg work on these to look into a) Status and b) Export to Canada.
IRUNGUNS? Any chance of starting enquiries into a possible import of these? Hell even if they were restricted in the end I would probably still buy one.
I haven't been this excited about something gun related in a long long time.
Probably a pipe dream on both a and b here.
Looks like spring they will be available.
Would it be possible to contact brownells as a dealer and get info regarding the specifics of the upper/lower and liaise with RCMP to see if they fall under the NEA102/original Semi Auto AR10 frt?

I would sell a kidney to fund this.
