Brno 21H Bolt Question?

I have two Brno model 21H rifles, manufactured 1949, in 7 X 57 and 8 X 57.

I have looked at a number of pictures of some beautiful Brno's and noticed that the spatula or flattened bolt handles, are blued or polished.

Were the bolt handles manufactured blued, or were some polished after they were sold?

All of the pristine ones that I have seen have been blued...how-ever nothing is set in cement.

Every one I have seen has been blued. The older the rifle is the better the finish, they go a bit rough later in production before the CZ 550 action came out.

My 1949 Brno 22F has a blued flat bolt handle.

I believe all were blued as well. The polished ones are purty too but I suspect that was the chosen route of escape when the handle was modified to clear a low scope. In my searches it has been that way most times unless the gun is a well used grey rat.
