I bought a fixer upper Brno 8x57 . The set trigger appears to be missing the spring that pushes up on the little toggle that is pinned with the front trigger . Is it a flat spring or a coil? How does it fit and what holds it in place? Does anyone have one they want to part with? What are my options for a single trigger? This would actually be my preference but I can't find anyone that lists an aftermarket trigger for a 21. Thanks .Joe

Chances are pretty good that it follows the same basic design as the ones used on Mausers and a bunch others.

Dig around the web and see if the pictures match, see what you can figure out from that. I did a Google Images search of Mauser set trigger and got lots of pictures, if that gets you some help...
If you get a picture that is a close match, start from there. A spring is a spring, take a good look at where it is supposed to fit and see what you can come up with. Round spring wire and a pair of pliers to make a straight wire spring, a set of files and some flat spring stock to make a flat one. Coil springs are a minor PITA to wind, but you can, easier to salvage or buy one to adapt if you are going that way.

Lots of guys will pay more for a double trigger gun, so consider that if you are planning on selling later.

Thanks for the help. I think I can see where to attach it.I'll Truro make a flat spring. Lots of you tube videos on making flat springs. Just nit sur of how strong it has to be. I'll give it a whirl.

Kamlooky,

I figure if he does not have one, he'd be only a few short minutes making one, given his background.

But from the other side of the country, it's kinda hard to make wild guesses at what the right part is, without good information to go on. Mke model and serial number is great if you are ordering common stuff from common manufacturers, but not so good when you need an uncommon part that may not have ever been stocked.

The good part about set triggers is that there are only a few designs that got used a lot on bolt guns. The bad part is that a lot of those were hand fitted and adjusted for the gun they were installed on, and pretty much need an understanding of what is going on, in order that a good decision be made as to how to repair or replace it.

Joey.45, if you do make contact with a gunsmith, aside from the make and model, you should be ready with some clear pictures of the trigger mechanism, as well as some clear photos of the receiver and it's markings.
Might not be needed, but would sure speed things along if you get to that point with someone on the other side of the country.

Best of luck!

Cheers
