Yes, that's 1980. A late model, most I've seen are 1950's and 60's.
They are very nice rifles and better than most. Almost the same as the current CZ's.

Some info I have archived from someone elses post:
** Model 1: .22 LR, 22.75 in barrel, 3-leaf (tri-leaf) sight, 5 shot lip mag., checkered pistol, 6lbs, mfg. 1946-1957. (many have 2 way
adjustable triggers, but not all. Safety is similar but slightly different to modern ZKM-452's)

** Model 2: similar to model 1, with checkered deluxe walnut stock.

** Model 3: .22 LR, target rifle model with 27.5" heavy barrel, adj click target sights, 5 shot clip mag, plain target style stock with
large swivel mounts, 9.5 lbs. Mfg. 1949-1956 (adjustable triggers) (I have never seen one of these yet)

** Model 4: similar to Model 3, except has improved trigger design & safety. Mfg. 1957-1973

** Model 5: similar to Model 1, except has the improved trigger design & safety. Mfg. 1957-1973.

Thanks slash5, This looks like the 452 in the sir catalogue, The barrel on mine is 25" same sling swivels. The v part of my rear sight is slightly loose. Can I just tighten the 2 screws on either side to tighten or does that move it left and right?
Thanks again guys

The two screws on the rear site do adjust windate on the V-notch. Its possible that one of them has come loose, so you can tighten it. They work by squeezing the v-notch against the other screw. After tightening, you'll have to re-zero.

Loosen both screws
manually centre the v-notch over the barrel (using the mark I eyeball)
lightly tighetn both screws until contact is made
alternate left/right 1/4 turns until sight is tight
fire a group
adjust rear site by backing off one screw and tightening the other

Thanks for the info, I figured they were for adjusting left to right. When I go out to the bush I'll do as you said and sight it in. Can't wait to try it out. Seems like a real nice gun for $150.00 Same guy is selling a marlin mag.22 for $275.00 . I didn't know they still made brnos until after I bought it. In my mind brno was a ww11 gun. Looks like same craftsmanship as my mauser. Thanks again for replying

Thanks for the compliments! I'll checkout rimfirecentral. My new to me brno is almost like new, just a couple scratches. The guy I got it off said hasn't been fired in over ten years and he got it off an elder man. With the date being 1980 I have to asume hasn't been used much. Still can't wait to go and shoot it. Maybe the rain will clear up tomorrow.
Thanks guys

this site is back up

I thought this site was gone.
Thanks guys for sending me to rimfirecentral! I learned alot about my brno. I now have peep sights coming from brnomann.Had the gun to the range twice. All I can say is awsome. Even with iron sights it is accurate. At 25 yards not much different than my ruger 10/22 with scope!,Mind you thats on elbows. Thanks guys

p.s I'll try and post pics soon

.... I have a Brno E2 and love it ! Very accurate, chamber is tight, which translates as some brands of .22 feed easier than others. Free float the barrel and apply UPWARD pressure at the fore end tip. Try different brands of ammunition to determine which one performs the best .... very reliable, and five shots touching at a measured 50 yrds are not unusual ! ... for open sights the stock ones are good, but the rifle is definately accurate enough to justify a good 'scope ! .... Was shooting the brno again

Thanks to all, put 200 rounds through the brno last saturday. Used winchester target. Shoots very well, bolt is almost broken in. Nice and tight. Barrel is very tight, hard to get the cleaning rod down it with the cleaning pad.
When I get some time I'll post some pics
