Just a quick "I love my gun" note to say "I love my Brno #4!"

I went out the other day to shoot some 50m and I was once again astonished at how the rifle shoots better than I can see.

I was shooting one of those Crappy Tire CSSF 20m targets with six bulls to the page and after chewing out the 9s and 10s on the top left I swung across to the top right and shot an X.

This is small beer to proper shooters, I know, but I am a rank beginner with bad eyes shooting with a micrometer sight. This piece of machinery delivered the bullet to a spot not much bigger than its own diameter at a distance of50m because I asked it to.

All to say, if you find one for sale, you should buy it. (For those who care, I was shooting CCI Mini Mag LRN.)

You should know that the #5 BRNO and CZ are the rarest of the 22 sporters, you are lucky just to have one! I have a gun similiar to yours set up with peeps and is accurate as yours, what year was yours made?(date code is on barrel and action, ie-proof mark then 52 wich is year end date code) The CZ's have BRNO marked barrels , but have 11mm rails and 11mm sight dovetails, these are more rare than the BRNO's but not finished as well, hope this helps a little, cheers dale Z in T-Bay

Id fail

 Thanks for your reply, Dale, but I have to admit I botched the original post. When I check the barrel as you suggest, it is clearly marked "Brno #4" (proofed in 1957, 16mm dovetail). I have edited the original post accordingly, but all of the rest of it is true!

I don't know why I thought it was a #5. It was sold to me by a bailiff who did not know too much about it. I certainly did not think it was a collector's item at the time (paid $500). Cheers,

Nasho nice gun for a fair price! I like the old BRNO's as they were built to work with, not fancy just built real well by craftsmen who had talent! If you look at how well they are fitted and polished you will not buy anything new as it is really a let down after owning these guns from the 1950's, cheers dale in T-Bay
