I am looking for a synthetic replacement stock for my BRNO 602 .375 H&H carbine.

Is there a synthetic stock avavilable that is lighter in weight than the current wood OEM unit?

My objective is to make the rifle more weatherproof and more importantly to reduce it's weight.

If yes, what supplier carries these stocks.

Thanks in advance guys.

When I put the McMillan on mine it gained 2 pounds! What kind of weight are you hoping to get down to?

Synthetic stocks for long action rifles seem to come in 2 flavours; good or light. There is no point in spending money to end up with an inferior product. Your best bet might be to reinforce your wood stock, to the extent possible make it bomb proof, and remove wood until you get the weight you can live with. The tricky part will be not screwing up the balance, but I'd say that the butt could be scalloped to some degree, and perhaps a light aluminum rail could be bedded into the forearm to displace some wood there. If you can live with a shorter length of pull that would help right off the bat.

There is lots of steel in the bridge, and perhaps a gunsmith could shave a few ounces there. You could also look for a lighter contour barrel, without a base for the express sight. Before you know it you'll have a 3 kilo .375 - sounds like fun!
