Can someone tell me a little bit about these rifles. I did a search on yahoo but came up pretty much empty. I have one that I inherited from my dad, but its been sitting in my safe for ~15 years and I'd like to strip the bolt for a good cleaning. The machine work seems a bit rough. Sometimes it has a problem ejecting empty shells. The stock has no checkering on the forearm, but does at the grip. I have a set of mounts, but bolt clearance is still an issue. Thanks in advance.

It probably has the larger dovetail, so getting different rings can be a bit of a problem. To strip the bolt: rotate the handle to the fired position, uncocked. Push the plunger on the rear of the bolt in. Lift out the safety. remove the bolt parts. Reassemble in reverse order, with the firing pin uncocked. To remove the extractors, you have to pry the retaining spring/collar clear of one extractor. You are dealing with a rather strong mainspring, so be careful. A good cleaning might help ejection.

Lots of brno 2Es arround. In todays models of CZ they are similar to the standard CZ. The ejector issue is common. Cleaning the extractors will help. The rings you have are likely to low. Are they med rings? You can get Lynx 5/8 dovetail(high) from Wholesale, $43. I have used them on a couple brno and CZ rimfires. ----Cowboy

Thanks to all. The top of the barrel has the following markings:

(a CZ symbol in a circle) BRNO ARMS MOD 2-E

The font size indicate scale of words; ie. ARMS is the smallest font etc.

I think the rings are medium height. Again, thank for the responses, I'll try to take the bolt apart and clean it up.

I just bought the identicle rifle, '99. I bought it off a buddy at work who bought it new and it's near mint. He cleaned it often and claims it is deadly accurate. I got the original owners manual with it, too, which reads thusly:
ZKM 452
SMALLBORE RIFLE
BRNO
MODELL 2-E
(the 2 L's are not a typo on my part)
I believe it was made in 1987 because there is a small marking on the left side of the action and also the bbl right beside the action which feature what appears to be a capital N with a stick man holding a gun over top of it (... ?) and then an "87" to the right. My serial # is 38###X.
I haven't shot it, yet and I'll ask my friend about extraction problems.
It's a nicely balanced rifle, imo. I find the safety very stiff, but won't likely use it since this is purely a target rifle for me, but don't think I'll scope it.
If I ever get a digital camera I'll post some pics.

I've got 1

Hi, I've got a brno mod 2. Very, very similar to the cz 452. Awsome shooter. My wife prefers it over her 10/22. rimfirecentral.com
has all the answers. look in cz category. There is a sticky on the brno models
nice gun wanna sell it?

Thought I'd ask. Hard to find like the deal I got $150.00can private sale.Like new. Even the red paint in the safety dot is there. Hope you enjoy yours like I enjoy mine. My wife and I try to faithfully put 300-500 rounds through it weekly. Accuracy is only getting better. I better stop thinking about the brno before I hunt another one down on the internet and buy it.
