Brno number 5

Brno No. 5's are not that rare and not that common. They pop up on the EE and on auctions fairly frequently. There's one on the Ward's Auction now at $320 with a scope and 6 days to go......

Prices vary depending on condition but they have not been made for a while (replaced by CZ's).

This isn't the US.
They were prevented from importing Brno to the US, when they were imported in quantity to Canada.

I would have thought the No. 1's were the most common of the Brno bolt actions on the EE. There are two on there now, I have bought one and sold another two in the last few months. There always seems to be No. 1's for sale on the EE

Significant numbers of surplus Model 1 and 2 were imported into Canada, in addition to new gun sales. These guns often had the stock licked over by a belt sander to remove dings, restained and oiled. I bought a few, long since gone.
I think that a nice Model 5 would sell at $650ish. I've seen them for less. Ultimately, it's value is whatever someone will pay.

The $950 model 5 is in the process of being deleted. As mentioned... about $350 over priced with holes drilled in it! I have a few Model 5's, one with a beautiful stock, target sights and serial #0002X, another with serial #004XX. Early models from 1957.

I have seen the prices between $400 and $1000 for rifles that looked nearly identical in condition, so i have never been understood the pricing. Slight tangent: Question I have is, which mags interchange between guns? I.e what model numbers take the same mags?

Th

Correct info on the mags. The older mags had a metal base, newer metal mags have a poly base and the all poly mags will all work in the various models noted. Mags are either 5rd or 10rd.

Ironsides1, are your model 5s marked “model 5”? The reason I ask is because I have 3 from 57 that are model 5s, but have model 1 barrels. I always understood they were transitional rifles.
