BRNO SxS's

My gun has the factory curved plastic butt plate, which I will replace because the LOP is 1/2" too short for me, not because it kicks too much. I'll use a Pachmayr old english decelerator. I like the look of a plain, non-ventilated pad. Tried a limbsaver on a shotgun once, they are wonderful rifle pads but too soft for shotgun, they will hang up on your shirt when mounting. fugawi, you might try lighter loads to manage recoil. There is such a fashion trend lately towards high speed, heavy loads. They are not a real advantage. You can kill any upland bird very cleanly with mild one ounce / 1200 fps 12 ga. loads. You will actually shoot better and your shoulder will thank you.

Here is some good info from a 1986 Pragotrade flyer:

The hand checkered dense walnut stocks are available in 4 configurations.
1- Englishstyle but stock with sliver forearm
2- English style but stock with beavertail forearm
3- Cheek piece and pistol grip but stock with silver forearm
4- Cheek piece and pistol grip but stock with beavertail forearm.

I also have a 1958 dated 16ga with pistol grip cheek piece rear stock with splinter forearm! The older ZP 49 shotguns have a much nicer bluing than the later guns.
