Would anyone know where i could find one?. I have been looking into getting a 223 bolt action but I would prefer one in control round feed. I heard this model in 223 is rare but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask.

keep looking cos whenv you get one it will be well worth the effort. Over the years I've been lucky enough to shoot my mates one, the slightly heavier one with the Monte Carlo stock. And have handled one in the classic type stock with the slimmer forend, both excellent shooters.

I have one, or rather the receiver of one, in a custom stock. Keep meaning to put a barrel on it, but haven't got around to it yet. Very smooth action. - dan

Nice rifle, they often can be found with a set trigger. Only downside (if you can call it that), the twist rate is kind of slow. 1:12 if I remember correctly.
Standard for 223 at the time. Back then fast twists were a custom barrel maker proposition only. And there weren't that many doing it. - dan

Not to be an enabler , but I gave Rembo a stainless .223 Ron Smith gain twist barrel a while ago . I believe he still has it................... Or you could sell the action to me ( cough ) lol .

A zkk601 without a barrel... wouldn't that be a good candidate for a 300 Whisper/Blackout barrel?

Tempting. and Rick is a great guy. I have quite a few 223's already though. Hence why I was thinking a 6x45 or maybe a 6 or 7 TCU. Have dies and components for all of those. Wonder how a TCU shaped case would feed in one of these, I'll have to try a couple through the action and see. That 300 Blackout idea is interesting, would be more interesting if we had legal access to suppressors. - dan

I have a 601 in 222, and a 527 in 223...
They are similar but quite different as well.
601 wears wood, bigger action, heavier gun, hinged floor plate, smoothish for a CFR Mauser like rifle, shoots really well with Hornaday 55gr SP cheap bulk, great trigger, weird finish with the blasted matte receiver and nice high polish barrel, makes me think the receivers may be cast, not sure.
527 is small, everything is high polish blue, synthetic stock is a little flimsy but accuracy is solid, takes mags, feels like a push feed it's so smooth, trigger is great, much more refined and better finished rifle no doubt.

The 601 in 222 is quite different than a 223.
The bottom of the action is machined for the magazine. If coal constraints are a possibility, think you’ll just rechamber or rebarrel it to 223 is a mistake.
