I wish I could get that close to the grouse where I am .... but they have turned very very shy by 150 years of heavy hunting pressure.

Question: I am curious .... what optic and mount are you using on those lever action rifles?

Might need to try this one day ....

Question: I am curious .... what optic and mount are you using on those lever action rifles?

The guns have octagonal barrel profiles as well as factory shallow drilled and tapped 8-40 holes that were used to mount a picatinny rail/rear ghost ring.

I bought some steel factory aimpoint acro Glock mounts, milled the dovetail off the bottom, then located, drilled, and countersunk a couple of holes.

It is a sweet setup - low enough that you aren’t chin welding it and the acro works like a big ghost ring in a pinch.
