I know that a few companies used to sell rear peep sights that were part of the scope base (Redfield perhaps) and some vintage British mausers had a peep fitted to the rear of the bolt. Both were meant to be out of the way however available if needed. I believe that "Why Not" has posted a picture of a Redfield set up on one of his rifles.

With that in mind, I came across Brockman Rifles and they offer a po-up peep that is fitted to a customized rear Talley scope base. Anyone ever used or examined one of these? My idea is to use a scope in removable mounts but to have a peep available when iron sights are being used. It would work better for me than the barrel mounted open sights and they are high enough to work with the higher combs of scoped rifles.

Thoughts? Is there something better? I'm not sure that I like the idea of the peep aperature pressing up (albeit slightly) on the bottom of the scope. I submitted a message to Brockman however have not had a reply yet.
