Broke My Lee 10lb Pot today

No idea....it was free so I didn't ask any questions

Using elements from an old toaster oven..720 watts

I have a 1000 watt hot plate element wrapped around mine then its wrapped in tin foil and then wrapped in roxul insulation and then a sheet metal skin. I just have the hot plate knob for now till I get my PID hooked up and running on it, Problem I am running into is sometimes the valve will seal 100% and then other times it will drip so I am going to try a forth design. But here it is the Frankenstein melting pot.

I will enclose the back and pretty it up once I have it working 100%

Whats the size of the pipe.

For my valve I am going to try to counter sink a hole in the bottom, then make a rod with a matching profile on my lathe. i figue I will use lapping compound to match the profiles 100%....thats my idea for now anyways

Thats 4" pipe and I did exactly what you said counter sunk 1/2" drill and turned the 1/2" rod down on the lathe then lapped it in with lapping compound. I think the taper is to long and conflicting with the piece I welded on the bottom for the nozzle but not entirely sure I am going to look at it tomorrow.
