Was shooting my CZ 85 Combat at a match this weekend and broke the slide stop.

I have searched the web, called Wolverine Supply and CZ USA and there are no Left Side CZ 85 slide stops available anywhere.

I have posted a WTB in pistol parts. EEaman Tech makes a pin that replaces the slide stop but you lose the slide stop function but it allows you to still shoot the gun.

Any suggestions for a fix? Apparently CZ 75 slide stop won't work.

Thanks!

I don't have examples to compare and little experience in working on them, however, my understanding is that it is the RIGHT side CZ 85 collar pin that is the critical dimensional difference. It might be worth checking if a CZ 75 pin (LEFT side) would fit the CZ 85's ambi-side collar RIGHT.

Will be trying a CZ 75 slide stop tomorrow. I have all the broken 85 pieces too.

Not sure if the CZ 75 shaft is too short and/or narrower/thicker than 85 as some fixes I have seen talk about enlarging the left frame and making a bushing for the right side slide stop hole.

Good luck. My understanding from recollection was that the CZ 85 had the larger hole for the RIGHT side collar/bushing slide release. Whether the CZ 85 LEFT side is dimensionally same/smaller/larger as the CZ 75 to fit inside the RIGHT side it another story. I would presume that any enlarging of the hole in the frame would be for retrofitting a CZ75 to a CZ85 style ambi arrangement. I have heard of making a collar/bushing for the right side, solely for the purpose of taking up the space of the hole if the RIGHT side piece was lost.

Are the Norinco CZ knockoffs based on the 85 or 75? Maybe that would work?

Some parts interchange, others not so a bit of a crap shoot. The Cesar shop has one on their website that should work if no alternative is found, but will try to source one a little closer.

I'd probably get two (or three) if you plan to shoot that pistol into the future.

I own a NZ85B, it's slide stop is the same as a CZ75; difference is that the slide design is more that of the Israeli pre Jericho Sphinx. Everything fits the CZ 75

Just a suggestion . do you have any friends from the Czech Republic ? or know anyone who knows someone from there ? my EX Girlfriend is from there . wouldn't call her though . try sending the Czech factory an email and ask if they have an idea where you can pick one up ? let me know too via pm . or look up firearm stores in the Czech Republic and send them an email asking if they would know anyone who would have one in stock and be willing to ship you one . as a buddy said nothing ventured nothing gained . someone I know has an old 75 . or worst comes to worst book a holiday next year over to Prague and drink some fantastic beer eat great food and buy all the parts you need . do your research first . don't take the parts in your carry on . you figure the rest out.

Item is UNOBTAINIUM as far as I can determine. Part number is CZ 0420-0080-07ND. Looks like CZ has stopped making them after they stopped making the gun in 2017 and none can be found. For what I read on some CZ forums, the existing stock was bought up and hoarded by CZ 85 owners since 2017.

I have removed the right side slide stop and I measured the OD of the right side slide stop and it is .250 while the OD of the shaft on the CZ 75 left slide stop is .195 so a difference of .055". However the frame hole up to the slide stop spring appears to be .195 and opens up after the spring to accept the right side stop and lock it in place.

I will try a CZ 75 left side stop and see what happens.

Amazing that CZ would stop making these as there must be tens of thousands of CZ 85 pistols out there and this is a known breaking part on all these CZ guns.
