Hello, and HELP PLEASE!!!

I got home and was cleaning my 858 this afternoon, when I noticed the piece in the picture is broken from the sidewall of the reciever. It appears to have once been welded or attached, but now is loose.

I had one or two failure to Extracts today, and noticed a bunch of metal shards in the bottom of my reciever during cleaning.

Advice please.

Thanks

The 2 statments above are the best solutions to this problem.
Although were you point at is not needed, nor that hookey spring that rests against the metal. ALTHOUGH that allen screw is needed to ensure that the saftey dosn't walk out on you.
This is yet another reason why government firearm rules causes us saftey issues for fiream owners. Now if we were allowed not to modify the orignal design of ther reciever but keep the orignal design and also make sure that the other saftey piece was installed. AKA the bolt close lever (were that stupid spring goes) alot of people would release that this is 1 of the most safest & reliable battle rifle platforms we are allowed to posess with a regular PAL.
Sorry Rant Off.

Thanks for the advice guys, but Satain you get extra props because you sparked the idea that saved the day.

Your right I don't need that block, I just needed a way to keep the safety from walking out.

A few months ago I bought an NEA ambi safety for my other Vz58 that uses the C-clip style instead of the block.

I had the old safety and C-clip from the VZ so I popped the lever and that broken block out of the 858 and installed the old c-clip safety from the VZ58 and it fit perfectly and works great.

Problem Solved!!!!

Thanks again guys.
