The sear in my Umarex Steel Storm broke. I called Umarex and they said the spare parts for this gun aren't stocked and aren't available. Does anyone know where I might find one ?
I believe sear is the right word for the part, it's a small piece of aluminum that stops the bolt from moving all the way forward and fire the next BB. The tip of the piece catches a notch in the bolt, and when you press the trigger, the piece is rotated around a pin, until the tip moves out of the way and the bolt slams forward.
Yes, the gun is only capable of full-auto fire now
, but since you have to hold down the trigger with one hand, and use your other hand to pull back the 'chargin handle' and let it go, aiming is kind of difficult.
BTW, if you want your Umarex Steel Storm to shoot full-auto instead of 6-round bursts, just open it up and remove the 'shot counter' wheel, you'll know it when you see it. A few other parts connected to the wheel can also be removed, but that's not necessary for full-auto fire.
