Recently acquired a gorgeous Laurona Eibar SxS shotgun, wood in excellent condition, color-case hardened with ejectors. The piece de resistance is that we're the same age, made in the mid-sixties.
Only got to fire it first time during the Double Gun Classic yesterday (awesome get-together...) and sadly discovered that the right barrel went "click" but without the corresponding "boom"...

Took apart the firing pin retaining plugs and found that a broken firing pin was the cause. Have googled extensively and cannot find a replacement, slight chance that another Spanish make/model's pin might work (Zabala, Sarasqueta etc) but not sure. If anyone has some info regarding the acquisition of a suitable replacement, please guide me along.

If I possessed a lathe, I would be slightly inclined to turn one myself out of 1/4 drill rod. Still, if finding a replacement is impossible, I'm tempted to maybe redneck myself one on my drill press with Dremel as a helper. Another option is to shape the tip of a drill rod equal in diameter to the hammer-side pin, heat-treat and maybe add a larger diameter washer (with JB Weld) on the shaft as a stopper. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

Well Im in Burlington and I have a lathe and a laurona, we could probably make something work. I think I've got some drill rod lying around too.

Another standout CGN member comes to the rescue! Thanks very much Jeffrey, for taking the time to help out a fellow shooter. This young man volunteered his services and made TWO new firing pins for me using drill rod. Kudos for your kindness to a stranger and congrats on the fine work! Installation and test firing this week.

In the pic below, the old firing pins in the top row, including the broken one on the right. Two bottom ones turned and hardened by Jeffrey.
