Broken Trigger on M700

Yesterday I had my barrelled receiver with trigger group out of the stock on my M700 Sendero, the whole thing fell off the seat and onto the floor, hit the right spot I guess because the trigger broke off (just the actual part you squeeze with your finger).

I havn't a clue where to buy a new trigger or how much that costs, but seeing as how this is going to be my precision rig, anybody think I should use this as my excuse to buy a better trigger, or just replace the small part and preform the do-it-at-home-job M700 trigger adjustment? (the trigger will have to fit in an Accuracy International Chassis System)

Just throwing this out there for fun to see what you guys think.

I can also replace your trigger group with a factory group set at a safe crisp 2.5 pounds for $75 including return postage. Email me if interested.

Don't use too many timneys. We stock and sell both Shilens and Jewell triggers. Shilens are on sale $120 +gst shipped. Hope that helps.
 
Archi... I see you only want to go as low as 2.5-3 lbs. The trigger group you have is the one to use. Contact Remington, they may want you to send them the trigger group. The last time I had a problem with one I sent it to them, they rebuilt it and set it to a 1.5 lb pull that I wanted. My cost was somewhere around $7.50 shipping. Tell them what happened, what you want to do with the rifle. Like most good manufactures they will help.

Here are my suggestions. You can either try and send it back for warranty work or send it to a gunsmith like Guntec.
Going the warranty route you will have to find an authorized dealer and hope they will send it in for you. (this is were being in Canada can be a problem) Remington will either fix it or send you a replacement trigger group or if they feel it was abused will return your trigger as is. End result you will still have the same factory trigger. With all that excellent “lawyered” required trigger pull.

Or you can send the trigger group to Guntec or a smith of your choosing that knows how to work on a Remington and they will not only fix it but they will stone, smooth, and adjust the pull weight so that it break crisply with no creep. As you have asked for a pull weight of 2.5 lbs the smith should easily be able to accommodate your result and most likely will work the trigger so it will break cleanly at 1 lbs, and then set it at the desired 2.5 lbs. You end up spending $75 give or take and have a better then factory but still factor trigger. Just in case the trigger develops a hiccup you should be able to locate a smith that has worked on a Remington trigger assembly.

Shilen’s or Jewel’s are outstanding triggers that can be adjusted down to ounces and are the cats meow for accuracy. They cost more and there are fewer people that can work on them if something goes wrong. You will find them on allot if not most bench and F class rifles they are also favored by the varmint crowd.

The truth is your rifle is ruined. I'll give you 10 bux, plus the shipping, I can use a few of the small parts.

The good news is that your stock is just fine, and might fetch $200.

Seriously, I'm going to say this only because I really think its funny..... you can put lip stick on a pig, but at the end of the day its still a pig!

The trigger swap out is an easy thing to do. Both triggers (Shilen and Jewel) come with instructions.

But if your selling the gun, maybe I'll up the anti to $210 kidding....
