Are these bullets even legal in Canada? I have never seen any discussion on them here or on other forums.
I saw this video and thought it was interesting that they are still branded as hunting rounds:

you should see what barnes x bullets are capable of , especially when driven from a stw .

imperial , possibly cil had bronze tipped rounds ( I still have some imperial left over for my 300 savage ) .

I don't know if these where the Remington bronze tips bullets , or something else .

why would they be illegal ? if a hunting round can go through body armour , then they need to build better armour .

Like burnt_servo said it looks like a Remington Bronze Point bullet, just a plain old hunting bullet. They were the predecessor to all the plastic tipped bullets you see today and used to be readily available for reloading years ago, they are just not that popular these days. I found this on the Remington site:
Introduced by Remington® over 80 years ago, these were the first bullets to utilize a tipped design. Today Bronze Point still delivers exceptional long-range performance on medium-sized game. Sleek profile generates flat trajectory. On impact, the bronze tip is driven backward to create rapid, but controlled expansion.

My grandfather tried the CIL bronze tipped ones in the 50's. he shot two moose each year for 50+ years, so had some experience. Only one moose needed a second shot.

His report was he did not like the bullets because sometimes they did not expand.

When they say a built is armer piercing that has nothing to do with wether a hunting round will do the same thing. All that means is that that bullet was designed to go through "x" rating of armer or better... A soft led tip .338 Lapua round with a light load will punch through body armer it still is not armer piercing.
