Would there be any collectors on here who would know the approximate value of a Mauser Broomhandle in very good to excellent condition, complete with the wooden case/stock?

You know the drill- post photos from every possible angle, showing all the blemishes and factory stampings and you'll get a reasonable idea of the value.

It really depends on condition, whether all serials match, if the stock is appropriate to the gun (there are a lot of reproductions around, and some stocks were made for some models and others made for other models), whether it's commercial or military, when it was made, and some other, more specific things. I collect pistols in that age range (roughly 1900 to 1930), and have seen prices on C-96 Mausers from about $850 to about $3000, depending. "Ordinary" C-96 pistols can be in the $1400 to $1900 range, plus another $400 to $800 for the holster/stock. But everything depends on condition and the other things mentioned above. I'm providing these dollar figures only as a guide, and there may be enormous differences either up or down, based on the particular gun you're asking about.

Thanks MTF for the reply.
I looked at the gun, but didn't get a chance to see if all numbers matched. I think it is completley original, including the handle. In my less than thorough examination, the bluing was, I would say, "complete."
The case/stock looked complete and in good shape.
I could get the serial number, to determine, I presume, age. How important for value is the date of manufacture, in as much as it could be pre WW1, WW1, or post WW1?
What I was wondering is what would be a high and a low, depending on more precise information, of the gun.

These guns, even in poor condition , seem to be going up in price.

I have been search for one under $750 for many months and have only found one frankenpistol in Canada at that price.

For selling a really, really good one you might consider going through one of the big auction houses...they would get the big price but also charge a commision.

How about from 300$ to 1X,###
This is like buying an antique car...so many factors to take into account to establish value.
You need to post specifics to get an idea....
My excellent + 1897 production conehammer is valued at 6###$

Most of the C96s I've seen in the last 15 yrs have sold in the 1K to 3K range.

As antique cars, values arent the price paid when a sale is done...But it's conforting to some to know they have a highly valued piece.
