Well, I picked up my AR last Friday from Epps. Ended up that it wasn't a bushmaster, but a genuine Colt Sporter! :D I can see this thing being a money pit. Soooo many things to accessorize it. I am at work now, so I cant add much more till I get home later.

Another question here. The barrel on the upper has 5.56 Nato stamped on it. Now, the .223 is safe to use in a 5.56 upper, but I was reading that better accuracy can be achieved using 5.56 in this upper. Is there any major supplier of 5.56 in Ontario, or will the difference be so slight that it is not worth it.

You actually get bettery accuracy with .223 because 5.56 is loaded hotter. You'd have trouble finding large amount of 5.56 in Canada anyhow.

Exporting military ammo from the US is banned due to the WoT. All we get is 55gr or 62gr Winchester 223, and that's in short supply.

Nice stick!!! Don't touch that thing, no accessories or nothin! Thats an original vintage.

Buy a new one to play around with, but leave that one on her own. :D

+1. Shoot it, clean it, and let it collect value.

Probably closer to 1984 than 1964 with the A2 upper and the lower with the sear block.

I dont think it is all original, the stock looks like it was changed at some point. Damn, that is vintage too... According to the serial number it was made in 1964.

Biggerhammer places the Sporter Lightweight as being first built in 1991. They said the AR15 markings were replaced with SPORTER in about 1990, and the lightweight model arrived in 1991.

Nice rifle.
