Brought out the Sharps today

I have a shoot next weekend, so I wanted to confirm my sight settings. This was at 300 yds from bench sticks. The first shot was a bit high, so I dropped it 2 moa and the next 3 were right in there. The group for the last 3 was about 2 1/4". The load is a Lyman 457125 bullet in 20-1 alloy lubed with SPG, CCI 200 LR primer, 67.5 gr Swiss 1.5 fg powder and a .06 poly wad with .004 newspaper wad on top.

Wow…nice group, nice stock!! Not new to black powder but new to a Pedersoli Sharps in 45/70. Tried some cast bullets and Campro bullets with Trailboss, Cowboy type loads and nothing but bloopers and a 2ft x 2ft group. Switched to a mid range smokeless powder with Campro 400g bullets and shot a 2inch group with open sights at 100 yards(finally)… Your 300yard target has given me inspiration and hope.

Thanks. They tend to like heavier bullets at longer range. These ones weigh right around 520 grains
