Hello all I built a Hi Power with Inglis slide and internals on a Feg frame. Everything seemed to fit fine and function except when cycling live ammo. I have Mec mags that seem to lock up tight but after the first shot it seems to push the mag down a little. It almost seems like it is engaging the magazine disconnect feature. the hammer is locked back and I cannot release the hammer. I have to push the mag up maybe 2 mm an then the pistol will shoot. Is this the issue that mags are to long for the frame that some people have spoke about? I though on the Feg frames that are identical to the HP frames you could interchange the mags. Or is this a mag issue and I need to track down some Inglis Mags?
Any help would be appreciated.

Which FEG frame do you have? The last FEG high power clones used s&w style barrel rather than BHP.

They didn't have the cam pin in the frame as I understand it.

It is the older FEG frame it will fire a round and if I keep my hand on the bottom of the mag I can shoot consecutive shoots

To me there may be 1 of 2 issues, each with simple fixes:

it sounds as though you have a trigger bar to sear bar engagement issue. IE the vertical bar which comes off the trigger and actuates the sear bar located in the slide may not be long enough.

But first, an Inglis barrel may not fit a frame built for the current barrel cam.

Remove the slide and barrel top half. Remove the barrel from the slide.

place the barrel on the top of the frame in it's normal position, is the flat of the bottom of the barrel flat on the frame rail?

Thank you I will check the barrel tomorrow night and post some pics.

About a 2 min job...
Now, is your barrel locking and unlocking properly when you cycle it by hand? When its forward is there any wiggle in the barrel when you press down on the hood?

Well things have gone from bad to worse !! I removed the Mag disconnect like the video showed me to except before i could get the pin on the trigger full punched out the the make disconnect shot out. Now it seems that trigger lever is too loose and i cant get to retain tension under the spring and the pistol; will only dry fire if it ids held up on a 90 degree. the trigger lever seems reealy lose and will not stay in that grove on the frame . Now for some pics

Everything locks up tight , no movement in the barrel
I get the trigger lever in it looks like this
then after a couple of cycles it stops engaging and the when you strip the the lever looks like this

I am slowly thinking I may have to take it to a gun smith , any recommendations does casey at Tac orc work on HP's

I am a little frustrated :( went to the range today it fired once and now I can't get to even dry fire it seems like maybe it is something with the slide. I got the slide fully untracked and it was in working order it just seems like the sear ( if that is what release the hammer ) does not want to in gage.. I can in fate with the slide of and it will release . I am out of ideas ? Does any one know a hp armour or a good gun smith ?

Rodger Kotanko at Dark International could probably sort it out for you. I'm out of ideas too...I did install a trigger assembly wrong once and it would stick fully to the rear, had to remove it and reinstall it to get it working again. If it's not in the right spot when you put the trigger pin in the assembly will hang up on the mag disconnect cut out.

Thank you , I am going to give him a call he is a member at my club so getting the pistol will be easy enough . Once again thanks for all you help :)

The mag disconnect pushes a plunger into the frame and cams the trigger pin (the vertical finger) into alignment. If the first round fires (or not) and pressure on the floorplate helps, I wonder if the trigger pin and its little spring need closer attention. Maybe it is too loose or the spring isn't connecting with the disconnector bar in the slide.

FWIW, I took my mag disconnector out YEARS ago and never looked back. But mine is factory everywhere, except for the disconnector.
