Hey All,
I picked up a repro Brown Bess awhile ago, and I want to take it out to shoot. My problem is I am having issues finding how much powder to put in before the ball. Does anybody know of a resource I could use? Or even better, does anybody know how many grains for shooting a ball? So far my research has yielded anywhere from 70-120 grains (2.5-4 drams IIRC), and with a margin like that I would rather see if the gurus here could point me in a right direction. It is a .75 caliber and was measured as a 12 gauge. I'm typically better with cannon loads but we measure those in ounces as opposed to grains. Thanks for taking the time to help!
