I have a stainless Springfield 1911 frame that I'd like to complete. Does Brownells ship slides, barrels and the necessary parts to Canada to complete the build?
I'd like to do a complete stainless gun. Are there any issues with using stainless internal parts say for trigger, hammer, extractor, ejector etc? Are they more brittle and prone to failure? I'm not into two tone guns. I would like to have a reliable vanilla ice cream stainless 1911. No fancy doo-dads.
Any help would be appreciated.

Provided that the manufacturer of the parts your buying is ITAR registered for export you should have no problem there. The barrel and slide would be where you'll get hung up I think.

With quality parts you should have no issue. If you were building a high volume IPSC gun I'd suggest sticking to plain old carbon steel but for a plinker you'll never notice a difference.

On the Brownells site, you can filter for exportable parts. I spent a small fortune there on Wilson Combat 1911 goodies for my Norc. Not the cheapest gun, but fun to do. You will also need to email them an end user agreement and keep your order under $500

Barrels are not doable though.

Yes they are, you just have to apply for and pay for an export license.
