Brownells AR-15/M16 Multitasker II Tool

Yeah, I've got one.

They're pretty decent, but not built super strong - I broke a rivet on mine when putting too much pressure on it trying to remove a castle nut from a buffer tube. I've sent it back and will be getting a replacement though, because Brownells has a pretty great return policy. Despite not being super solid, I'm pretty happy with the purchase, it's a handy tool to have.

Did you get the "full size" version or the ultralight?
Brownells seems to have a solid warranty.Based on your experience its seems that one should use the castle nut wrench for tightening not removing. Thanks for the input :)

Full size version.

Yeah, just be wary of how much pressure you're putting on the thing, I was just using my arm, not my full body weight when mine popped. That said, it's possible that it was just a defective one with an already weak rivet.

Mildot,

FYI, Armtac is the exclusive distributor of the multitasker tool. We will be shipping the first shipment to Dave Surplus so you will be able to get it in Canada.

In addition, the Series 2 caste nut wrench is only design to tighten the castenut and not loosen it. (The caste nut wrench is not locked to the tool)

However, the caste nut wrench on the Ultralight can be locked to the tool, so u will be able to use it to loosen the castenut. Any additional question of the tools, you can send me an e-mail to info@armtac.com

I have had a series one for a couple of years. It's a bit clunky, but handy to have in the range bag. One thing that irks me about it is that the screwdriver on it and the bits that it comes with are not long enough to get to the grip screw. This can be remedied by just going out and buying a longer bit.
I am looking to get an Ultralight.

Mike,

Yep you can definitely go to Dave Surplus to pick an ultralight. They should have my shipment tomorrow.

In addition, Multitasker will release a TUBE with carbon fiber wrapping on it. I am still unsure how it looks like and the price.
